2022 RUGBY WORLD CUP QUALIFICATION
It’s been 12 years since Scotland were last part of a Women’s Rugby World Cup, but after a spirited performance with nine tries through eight different try scorers, Scotland earned their place at the 2022 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand after defeating Colombia 59-3 at the Dubai Sevens Stadium in February. The team flew back the day after the game and went straight from the airport to BT Murrayfield, where they were introduced to the crowd ahead of Scotland men's Guinness Six Nation game against France. Watch our 'Story of the Day' video for an insight into the match action, post-match celebrations and the journey home.
Scotland Women had secured a place in the Final Qualification Tournament in Dubai after beating Spain and Ireland in the Europe Qualifiers in September 2021, the thrilling 20-18 win over Ireland coming after a stirring fightback that was settled with a late Chloe Rollie try, converted with ice-cool assurance by Sarah Law.
