Warriors to start season in South Africa

In 72 days Glasgow Warriors will kick-off the 2019/20 season against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein.

Dave Rennie’s men will travel to South Africa for the season opener on Friday 27 September, which will kick-off at 6.05pm (UK time).

For the first time ever, fans can plan
their weekends right up until Round 20 with all kick-off times and dates laid
out right to the penultimate weekend of the regular season.

The first five rounds of the campaign will
take place during the Rugby World Cup to help avoid a clash with the Guinness
Six Nations which has led to only one weekend in a direct overlap with Test
matches throughout the season (Round 12).

Due to the time difference in Japan there
will be no direct clashes with kick-off times in the Guinness PRO14 so fans
will able to take in all of the rugby on offer during this period.

The first home game of the new season is against the Scarlets on Friday 4 October and the Warriors will face Welsh opposition for the second time in eight days when they welcome Cardiff Blues to Scotstoun on Saturday 12 October. Both games will kick-off at 7.35pm.

The Guinness PRO14 will then break for two weeks, with the Warriors back in action at Rodney Parade in Newport to take on the Dragons on Saturday 26 October at 3pm.

Glasgow Warriors will then host the Kings at Scotstoun on Friday 1 November at 7.35pm, before travelling to Parma to play Zebre at Stadio Lanfranchi on Saturday 9 November at 3pm (UK time).

Following the first two rounds of the Champions Cup, Glasgow Warriors will host defending PRO14 champions and Conference A rivals, Leinster at Scotstoun on Saturday 30 November, with the game kicking off at 7.35pm. This will be the first time that the two teams have met since last season’s PRO14 Final at Celtic Park.

Rounds 3 and 4 of the Champions Cup will follow and then it’s the 1872 Cup double-header against Edinburgh over Christmas.

The first game against Richard Cockerill’s side will be at Scotstoun on Saturday 21 December (kick-off 5.45pm) with the game at BT Murrayfield taking place on Saturday 28 December at 3pm.

Glasgow will once again travel to Treviso to play Benetton Rugby for the first game of the New Year on Saturday 4 January 2020 at 1pm (UK time).

The final two pool matches of the Champions Cup will then take place, with the next Guinness PRO14 fixture not scheduled until Valentine’s Day, when the Warriors will host Zebre at Scotstoun with a 7.35pm kick-off.

The following Saturday, the Warriors will welcome the Dragons to Glasgow (kick-off 7.35pm), before a trip to the RDS in Dublin on Friday 28 February (kick-off 7.35pm) for the second of two Conference A fixtures against Leinster next season.

Following a three-week break, the Warriors will travel to Swansea to play the Ospreys at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday 21 March at 5.15pm.

Dan McFarland’s Ulster will visit Scotstoun on Friday 27 March (kick-off 7.35pm) for the first of two games between the sides in the space of six weeks.

Rennie’s squad will then head to Galway to play Connacht on Friday 10 April, with the match at the Sportsground kicking off at 7.35pm.

The Cheetahs will come to Glasgow on Friday 17 April (kick-off 7.35pm), before the Warriors take on Munster at Thomond Park in Limerick on Saturday 25 April (kick-off 5.15pm) and then Ulster at the Kingspan Stadium in Belfast on Friday 8 May (kick-off 7.35pm).

The final home game of the regular season will be against the Ospreys on Friday 15 May at 7.35pm and the third game against Edinburgh will be at BT Murrayfield on the final day of the regular season (Saturday 29 May) with the kick-off time to be confirmed in early 2020.

Details on the knock-out stages and final will be confirmed in due course.

Fans in the UK can watch every game live on
Premier Sports with FreeSports and S4C providing live and deferred free-to-air coverage throughout the season each weekend. FreeSports will
confirm all of their selections later this summer. The action will also be screened live across DAZN, eir Sport, SuperSport, S4C and TG4.

The Heineken Champions Cup pool fixtures are expected to be released in August.
