Seven Warriors selected for Autumn Nations Cup finale

Seven Glasgow Warriors have been named in Scotland Head Coach Gregor Townsend’s squad for Saturday’s Autumn Nation Cup finale clash against Ireland.

After finishing second in the table behind France in Group B, Scotland will take on Group A runners up Ireland in Dublin at 2.15pm on Saturday at the Aviva Stadium.

Tighthead Zander Fagerson returns to the starting line-up after impressing off the bench against France two weeks ago at BT Murrayfield and is joined at the coal face by hooker Fraser Brown.

Scott Cummings’ run of Test matches will continue on Saturday, as the second-rower makes his 17th successive appearances for his country since his debut in August 2019.

Matt Fagerson retains his place in the starting line up at number 8 off the back of his powerful ball carrying display against the French.

Ali Price is named at scrum-half, having played the full 80 minutes against France and joins Scott Cummings as one of only three Scotland players to have started every match in the 2020 autumn campaign.

Two further Warriors are included amongst the replacements. Loosehead Oli Kebble is named on the bench and will have played a part in every game in the 2020 autumn campaign if called upon.

Huw Jones is named in the Scotland squad for the first time since his outing against England in February after impressing and scoring Glasgow’s sole try in their 10 – 19 victory over Cardiff Blues on Sunday evening.
