McGuire to leave Scotstoun

Nicola McGuire, one of the longest-serving members of the Glasgow Warriors backroom team, will leave Scotstoun this week.

The club’s Lead Physiotherapist will be moving on, bringing down the curtain on a 12-year spell with the Warriors.

McGuire initially joined the club in September 2007 as Team Physiotherapist, working as part of the Warriors medical team at Firhill.

Alongside colleagues past and present, she has become an integral part of the club environment, ensuring that the players receive the required treatment and physiotherapy and assisting in their recovery from injury.

Her time at the club has coincided with the most successful decade in Glasgow Warriors history, including the move from Firhill to Scotstoun, two European quarter-finals and the club’s inaugural league title in 2014/15.

McGuire has also worked with the Scotland national setup throughout her career to date, enjoying stints with the men’s under-18s, under-20s and senior squads, Scotland A and Scotland 7s.

The club’s Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach, George Petrakos and Rehab Physiotherapist, Gabrielle McCullough will also be leaving this week.

Glasgow Warriors Managing Director, Nathan Bombrys, said: “We’d like to thank Nicola for everything she has done for the club.

“She has been in integral part of our medical team since 2007 and we wish her all the best for the future.

“We’d also like to thank George and Gabrielle for everything they’ve contributed to the club over the last few years and we wish them well for the future.”
