Glasgow Warriors to open European campaign away to La Rochelle

Glasgow Warriors will open their 2021/22 Heineken Champions Cup campaign with a trip to last season’s runners-up, as Danny Wilson’s men take on La Rochelle at the Stade Marcel Deflandre.

The fixture will form part of the opening round of European competition, with the trip to France scheduled for the weekend of 10/11/12 December.

The Warriors emerged victorious from their only previous visit to the Stade Marcel Deflandre, as tries from Callum Gibbins, Niko Matawalu and Kyle Steyn secured a famous 27-24 victory.

Scotstoun will then play host to familiar European foes Exeter a week later, as the English outfit arrive in Glasgow on the weekend of 17/18/19 December.

Wilson’s men will then make the return trip to Sandy Park on the weekend of 14/15/16 January, as the two sides meet in European competition for the fourth time in the last five seasons.

A potentially pivotal home tie then awaits in the final round of group stage action, with La Rochelle heading to Scotstoun on the weekend of 21/22/23 January.

Full kick-off times, dates and ticketing will be confirmed in due course.
