Glasgow Warriors partner with Digi Inventors Challenge

Glasgow Warriors have been confirmed as a community Brand Ambassador for the Digital Health and Care Institute and the national Digi Inventors Challenge, which challenges young people across Scotland to identify and tackle modern health and care issues.

Held annually, the club has agreed a three-year deal to support the programme, which encourages team of kids to enter ideas to help their peers improve their physical and mental health with digital technology at the heart of each concept.

The competition is open to kids at secondary schools, after school clubs and other local clubs across the country.

Shortlisted teams will compete for an impressive prize package, as well as the chance to see their idea become reality at the DHI’s Digi Inventors Challenge

Bootcamp. Finalists will then present their idea in a formal pitch-setting to a panel of expert judges, before an overall winner is crowned.

Chief Executive of the Digital Health & Care Institute, Professor George Crooks OBE said: “Glasgow Warriors are the ideal partner for DHI in delivering our Digi Inventors Challenge 2020.

“Their community and family-focus, alongside their national and international standing, will assist us in attracting great interest from across Scotland.

“They understand and use technology to support their elite squad of players and improve their effectiveness and teams involved in the 2020 challenge will gain an insight into how technology can contribute to sporting success, but also how this can be translated into our daily lives.”

Glasgow Warriors Managing Director Nathan Bombrys said: “The Digi Inventors Challenge is an exciting programme that tests young people across Scotland to use technology to find innovative solutions to improve health and well-being.

“We take real pride in our commitment to contribute to our community, and we are proud that the Digital Health Institute has asked our club to be ambassadors for this Digi Inventors Challenge.

“We look forward to supporting the Challenge and meeting some inspiring young people over the coming months.”
