First Bus renew partnership with Glasgow Warriors

First Bus have become the latest member of the Glasgow Warriors network of sponsors and partners to renew their partnership with the club, with the two parties extending the current deal until the end of the 2022/23 season.

The partnership will see the Warrior Nation continue to benefit from free matchday travel until at least the conclusion of next season, with all Season Ticket Members and Match Day Ticket purchasers able to claim free tickets to and from Scotstoun for all fixtures.

Supporters have been encouraged to travel sustainably throughout the partnership to date, with the First Bus app assisting journey planning for fans of both Glasgow Warriors and fellow United Rugby Championship sides travelling to Scotstoun on matchdays.

An Official Club Partner since 2017, First Bus have also been showing their green credentials in recent years, having teamed up with the club’s Official Community Partner SP Energy Networks in 2019 to introduce Glasgow’s first fully electric buses in over half a century.

First Bus continues on its electric journey with the delivery of a further fleet of zero-emission electric buses underway, with 150 electric vehicles set to be operating across the city.

The company has committed to running a fully zero-emission fleet by 2035, championing sustainable travel and supporting local communities across Scotland and the UK.

Those under the age of 22 can also claim free travel in and around Glasgow, provided they possess a valid Young Scot card.

Graeme Macfarlan, Commercial Director for First Bus in Scotland said: “We’re absolutely delighted to continue our partnership with Glasgow Warriors, which brings free and sustainable travel options on match days to its supporters.

“It has been fantastic to see fans return to attending matches in recent months and we are proud to be able to play our part in helping the people of Glasgow show their full support for Glasgow Warriors through to the end of the 2022/23 season.”

Glasgow Warriors Managing Director Al Kellock added: “We’re very pleased to once again renew our partnership with First Bus, whose support has helped us significantly improve the matchday experience for our supporters.

“To be able to offer our supporters free travel to and from Scotstoun for matches makes such a massive difference – it allows fans from across Glasgow to safely and sustainably travel to our matches, and helps us create the atmosphere for which this club has become famous over the years.

“It’s a partnership that reflects the values we hold as a club, and we look forward to continuing to work closely with First Bus in the coming seasons.”
