Eight Warriors named for Cuttitta Cup clash

Scotland Head Coach Gregor Townsend has named eight Warriors in his squad for this weekend’s inaugural Cuttitta Cup match against Italy in Rome (Saturday 12 March, kick-off 2.15pm)

A total of seven Warriors have been named in the starting XV for the round four Guinness Six Nations clash where Scotland will look to bounce back from their defeat to France at BT Murrayfield two weeks ago.

George Turner returns to the starting line-up at hooker, joined at the coal face by British and Irish Lions tight-head prop Zander Fagerson.

Fresh off signing a new long-term deal with the club, Rory Darge is named at openside flanker after a standout performance against France.

Joining Darge in the backrow, Matt Fagerson is named at number eight, returning to the starting XV after missing the France game.

Ali Price continues at scrum-half, having started every match of the 2022 Six Nations so far.

Try scorer in the last meeting against Italy, Sam Johnson lines up at inside centre.

Rounding out the Warriors starting compliment, Kyle Steyn is named on the wing for his first involvement of the tournament.

Sione Tuipulotu is named among the replacements at 23 continuing his run of being named in every one of Gregor Townsend’s squad’s this Guinness Six Nations.
