Sintu Manjezi

Lock

Equally adept in the back-row as he is in the second-row, Sintu Manjezi joined Glasgow Warriors in the summer of 2022.

Standing at 6’6”, Manjezi first came to prominence in South African schoolboy rugby, captaining St Andrew’s College first XV en route to earning a place in the Eastern Province Academy.

He made his Currie Cup debut for the province at the age of just 20, making 15 appearances in the 2016/17 season prior to a move to the Griquas the following year.

His exploits for the Griquas earned him a move to the Toyota Cheetahs, immediately catching the eye of those in the northern hemisphere.

Manjezi’s dynamism with ball in hand and expertise at the set-piece saw him help the Bloemfontein side to a place in the Guinness PRO14 playoffs in 2019, the first time a South African franchise had made the knockout stages.

Away from rugby, the East London-born man studied at Nelson Mandela University in Port Elizabeth, as well as representing Eastern Province U19 at cricket prior to turning professional.
