Jamie Bhatti

Loosehead

Jamie Bhatti returned to his first professional club in the summer of 2021, following two seasons away from Scotstoun.

The Stirling-born prop came through the ranks with Hillfoots Minis, before making the switch to Stirling County, representing the Brideghaugh club at senior level.

A spell at Melrose dove-tailed with his time in the FOSROC Scottish Rugby Academy, which saw the loose-head come into the Glasgow setup under first Gregor Townsend and then Dave Rennie.

Bhatti made 47 appearances during his first spell with the Warriors, including playing a pivotal role in Glasgow’s run to the 2019 Guinness PRO14 Final at Celtic Park.

He then made the move across the M8 for a spell at Edinburgh, before joining Bath in January 2021 and running out on 11 occasions for the English outfit.

The loose-head agreed a return to Scotstoun in the summer of 2021, putting pen to paper on a deal with Danny Wilson’s squad.

He then marked his 50th appearance for the club with a try – his second in as many weeks – against the Emirates Lions in October 2021.

The Hillfoots product became the 55th centurion in club history in February 2024, running out for his 100th appearance in a 40-7 victory over the Dragons.

Bhatti’s form in the early stage of the 2017/18 season saw him rewarded with a first international call-up for the 2017 autumn internationals, making his Scotland debut against Samoa at BT Murrayfield.
