Weekend Update

A thrilling draw keeps our hopes alive, players and fans brave the rain, and Leone returns to Scotstoun - all this and more in the latest edition of our Weekend Update.

Eight-try thriller keeps Glasgow in the hunt

It might not have been the result that the players, coaches and supporters were hoping for, but Glasgow Warriors kept their quarter-final hopes very much alive as they fought out a 31-31 draw with English Premiership leaders Exeter Chiefs at Scotstoun.

The two teams shared eight tries between them in a match that saw momentum swing from side to side, from Tommy Seymour's first-minute try to Stuart Hogg's last-minute penalty hitting the crossbar.

Weather no match for Warrior Nation

The weather may have been atrocious at best, but that didn't stop a capacity crowd of 7,351 selling out Scotstoun for the crucial clash and waiting in the early evening rain to show their appreciation for their team.

It was a gesture that the Warriors reciprocated, posing for photos and signing autographs well after the final whistle.

Leone makes return to The Clubhouse

Before the match, there was a rapturous reception for the return of one of the Warrio Nation's favourite sons, as Leone Nakarawa took to the stage in The Clubhouse alongside Hugh Dan MacLennan.

Seymour Try of the Round nod leads Warriors recognition

It was one of the quickest tries of the Glasgow Warriors season to date, and now Tommy Seymour's score on Saturday finds itself in contention for the Heineken Champions Cup Try of the Round.

A host of team-mates were also recognised for their performances on Saturday, including Adam Hastings, Jonny Gray and Glenn Bryce.

State of Play

With the dust settling on another titanic weekend of European rugby, the task facing Glasgow Warriors in their pursuit of a quarter-final is clear.

Dave Rennie's side go to Sale Sharks this weekend knowing that a bonus-point win is required to give them the best possible chance of qualifying for the last eight, a feat that would make it consecutive appearances in the knock-out stages.
