A debut, a new arrival and a post-match assessment - catch up with what's been happening with our Weekend Update.

Jale touches down

The Warrior Nation got their first glimpse of one of the new faces to Dave Rennie’s squad, following the arrival of Jale Vakaloloma into Glasgow Airport on Sunday evening. It might still be three weeks until their side takes to the field for their first pre-season match, but some fans are already anticipating the prospect of seeing the big Fijian in action.

Nice feeling for Cummings

Whilst Saturday night probably won’t live long in the memory for most Scotland supporters, it’ll be an unforgettable occasion for one Glasgow Warrior.

By coming off the bench in the 63rd minute to make his Scotland debut, Scott Cummings became the club’s 111th player to earn senior international honours. It’s safe to say that the second-row was delighted…

Price offers post-match thoughts

Despite Cummings’ debut, Scotland endured a disappointing evening at the Allianz Riviera in their defeat to France. Ali Price – one of eight Warriors involved in the matchday squad – offered an honest assessment of proceedings following the final whistle.

Flying Fijian duo bound for Japan

The first Warriors heading to Japan for the 2019 Rugby World Cup were confirmed on Friday, as Niko Matawalu and Mesu Dolokoto were named in the Fiji squad ahead of the tournament. After representing their country with distinction in this summer’s Pacific Nations Cup, the pair will now turn their respective attentions to a pool containing Australia, Wales, Georgia and Uruguay.
