Rennie hails Warrior Nation ahead of La Rochelle test

Glasgow Warriors Head Coach Dave Rennie has praised the dedication and passion of the Warrior Nation ahead of tomorrow’s meeting with La Rochelle, as Glasgow supporters look set to make themselves heard at the Stade Marcel Deflandre.

Despite industrial
action taking place across France causing widespread travel disruption, social
media has been filled with stories of Warriors fans clubbing together to make
the journey to the south-west of France for tomorrow’s match by any means
possible.

Over 130 supporters
are also travelling to the match on the club’s official chartered flight, which kicks off at 3.15pm (UK time) tomorrow afternoon.

“It’s brilliant,”
said Rennie.

“Being able
to charter a plane only happens when we’ve got supporters willing to jump on a
plane to come and follow their team. Obviously with the industrial action going
on some supporters might miss out because of the travel disruption, which is
frustrating for everyone involved.

“I know we’ve
got a lot of the boys not travelling to La Rochelle going down to
The Old Schoolhouse and watch the game at the Famous Grouse Fan Zone down
there, and we’re hoping to welcome a lot of fans there too.”

Rennie also
had a closing message for those making the trip to France, as the Warriors gear
up for a first-ever meeting with La Rochelle.

“For the
fans doing their best to get to the ground any way they can tomorrow – we’re
determined to give them something to sing about.”
