Midweek Update

It's been a busy few days both at Scotstoun and beyond - sit back and catch up on all that's been happening with our special Midweek Update.

12 Warriors named in Scotland squad for Rugby World Cup

No prizes for guessing the biggest story of the week so far, after Gregor Townsend named his 31-man Scotland squad for the upcoming Rugby World Cup in Japan. 12 Warriors will be on board the plane to Japan, the most contributed to the squad by a single club.

DTH selected in Canada squad

It wasn’t just the club’s Scotland stars that had reason to celebrate – Canada’s selection of DTH van der Merwe in their final squad means that Glasgow’s record try-scorer will be heading to his fourth Rugby World Cup, as he prepares to face the likes of New Zealand and South Africa in Pool B.

Three more years for Oli

The week started off on the best of notes for the Warrior Nation, with the news that Oli Kebble had signed a contract extension to keep him at the club until the summer of 2022. Both the man himself and the Scotstoun faithful were – it’s fair to say – delighted with the news.

New season, new kit

Kebble was one of the first players to model the brand new Macron home kit for 2019/20, which was revealed on Monday morning. Supporters will have their first chance to see it worn in action when the Warriors take on Ulster on Saturday, as they travel to Belfast for their opening pre-season encounter.

Warriors Weekly returns

If you also can’t wait for the season to return, then fear not – the club’s official Warriors Weekly podcast is back for another season…
