"Leinster were outstanding today" - Rennie

Dave Rennie praised the opposition as his side suffered a 55-19 defeat at the RDS.

Speaking following the match against the three time European Champions Rennie said: “I thought Leinster were outstanding.

“They outmuscled us up front and used the ball really well. They were clinical and we didn’t defend well enough giving them a couple of soft tries.”

Leinster have now won five out of five in the Champions Cup and when asked if he thought if they could go on to win a fourth title Rennie admitted he thinks they will be in the running.

He said: “It’s such a tough pool and for Leinster to be so dominant has been really impressive.”

Warriors will be disappointed with their own performance and Rennie has cited next weekend’s game against Exeter as a chance to respond.

He said: “We had an awful lot of guys missing, there’s a dozen guys playing their first European campaign and the cavalry will come back in next weekend.”

“There’s a lot of character in this group. We’re bitterly disappointed with today, especially that first half but we’ll bounce back and try and put on a quality performance next week against Exeter.”
