Warriors find out pro draft destinations

The 2017/18 Scottish Rugby pro draft has taken place, with each member of the Glasgow Warriors squad finding out the BT Premiership club to which they will be aligned ahead of the new campaign.

The draft has played a key role in recent years in helping to further the development of Scottish professional rugby, with players not involved in professional matchday squads gaining valuable game time in the BT Premiership.

Four of Glasgow’s summer signings will be aligned to newly-promoted Marr, with Lelia Masaga, Oli Kebble, Samuela Vunisa and Siosiua Halanukonuka drafted to the Troon-based club.

There will also be a return to Marr for D’arcy Rae, with the prop a former pupil of Marr College.

Elsewhere, Adam Hastings and Ruaridh Jackson have been drafted to Currie Chieftains, whilst former Stirling County players Lewis Wynne, Adam Ashe and Nick Grigg are once again aligned to the Bridgehaugh club.

Glasgow Hawks coach Peter Horne may now also turn out for the Anniesland side, with the Warriors centurion joining younger brother George in being drafted to the club.

Finally, Sam Johnson and Brandon Thomson are amongst the players aligned to reigning BT Premiership champions Ayr, with the men from Millbrae having defeated Melrose a tense final to claim the 2016/17 title.
