O’Halloran excited about Northampton challenge

Glasgow Warriors will play Northampton Saints in a glamour pre-season fixture in Stirling next month and assistant coach Jason O’Halloran says it will be a big challenge for them ahead of the new season.Jason O'Halloran is excited about the Northampton fixture

The game at Bridgehaugh Park kicks off at 2pm on Saturday 19 August and around 2,700 tickets will go on sale to Season Ticket Members and Warrior Nation Members on Monday.

Speaking to Warriors TV, Jason O’Halloran said: “Traditionally Northampton have a very strong forward pack and I think they’ll bring that physicality.

“We have a massive challenge up front and if we can get some parity there then we can play some rugby, so it’ll be up to the tight five to lay a foundation in that game for sure.”

O’Halloran is excited about taking the game back to Stirling after the Warriors hosted Canada ‘A’ there last season and believes it’s a great opportunity to continue to grow the Warrior Nation.

He added: “I like taking games to other regions, in some of these regions there is some really good talent there and we don’t often get an opportunity to go to different communities.

“Taking this game to Stirling will be great for us to engage with those people and perhaps see some young kids and do some clinics and spread the gospel.

“If we can create a bigger following for Glasgow Warriors then all the better, so we’re really looking forward to going there and having a good game of footy.”

Season Ticket Members and Warrior Nation Members can purchase tickets for Glasgow's pre-season fixture against Northampton Saints at Bridgehaugh Park Stirling on Saturday 19 August (kick-off 2pm) from Monday at 10am by signing into their ticketing account.
