Eight Warriors in Premiership action

Eight Glasgow Warriors players will feature in the BT Premiership this weekend as the hunt to reach the play-offs and avoid relegation continues.Tjiuee Uanivi will return from injury this weekend

Nambian international Tjiuee Uanivi makes his return from injury following five months on the side-lines having injued his shoulder playing for the Warriors against Ulster in September.

He lines up for Glasgow Hawks in their top of the table clash at home to Ayr, with fellow Warriors Junior Bulumakau and Matt Smith also involved for the Old Anniesland side.

Hagen Schulte could also feature for Hawks, subject to game time on Friday night and the same goes for James Malcolm who could face off against his Warriors teammates, pulling on the pink and black.

An Ayr victory would cement them a home semi-final, however should the Hawks make the most of their home advantage they will make significant ground on their rivals with just one game to play.

Warriors fans can get a glimpse of new short term signing Brandon Thomson this weekend as Stirling County travel to Watsonians.

Having arrived from Super Rugby side the Stormers this week, Brandon will get his first taste of the Scottish game alongside Fiji international Nemia Kenatale.

With fourth placed Heriot’s hosting league leaders Melrose, there could be an opportunity for fifth placed Currie to jump into the play-off places with a win.

Ratu Tagive is included in their side to face Boroughmuir.

Elsewhere there is a battle to avoid relegation in the Borders with local rivals Gala and Hawick going head to head.

Gala are currently four points adrift of their neighbours at the bottom of the pile and travel to Mansfield Park knowing a win is needed to avoid the drop.
