Puafisi: It'll be good to play against my old side

Glasgow Warriors have announced the squad that will play Gloucester for their second pre-season fixture tomorrow night (kick-off 7.45pm), with Sila Puafisi in line to face his former club.Sila Puafisi starts on the bench tomorrow night

The Tongan tight-head made 35 appearances for the West Country side before signing for the Warriors in August 2015, and is looking forward to returning to Kingsholm with the PRO12 side.

Speaking exclusively to glasgowwarriors.org, he said: “It’s always a pleasure to see my friends and former team-mates from Gloucester, and it’s going to be good to play against them.

“I enjoyed my time there. I made some close friends and I’m excited to go back. I know they’re looking forward to playing against us!”

After a narrow defeat against Harlequins last weekend, Gregor Townsend’s side will be looking for a positive result in their second pre-season friendly, before rounding off their preparations against Canada ‘A’ in Stirling on Tuesday.

However, with Gloucester pushing Leinster close in their opening pre-season encounter, Puafisi is fully aware of the challenge they will face.

He added: “It’ll be a really tough game. Kingsholm is always a tough place to go to and Gloucester are a very good team.

"They have really good supporters, especially in the famous Shed, so it’ll be a good atmosphere.”
