Glasgow Warriors today announced the signing of USA international Folau Niua on a deal until the end of the season, subject to a visa and medical.
The 29-year-old centre has played in 21 sevens tournaments for his country and has three caps for the full USA national team.
He's played at Scotstoun twice before at the Glasgow 7s and after arriving at the stadium earlier today he said this time he wanted to stay for as long as possible.
Speaking exclusively to glasgowwarriors.org he said: "It's good to finally be in Glasgow. As soon as I got the news that I was joining the club I was looking forward to it, so now that I'm here I'm getting closer to playing for the club.
"It's nice to be back at Scotstoun. As soon as I got here it looked familiar as I've been here twice before with the USA sevens team, but now hopefully I can stay here for a while and I'm looking forward to the challenge."
This is the first time Niua has played for a club in Europe and he says he'll give Glasgow everything when he finally pulls on a Warriors shirt.
"When I put a jersey on I give it everything that I have. I've been playing rugby since I was a kid and when I've got the jersey on me it's like it's part of me so I'll bring everything I got and see what I can bring to the team.
"I'm really excited about this move, I know there are a lot of players out there who would like to be in my shoes right now. I just can't wait to start playing for the club."
