Doncaster 3 - 40 Warriors

The countdown to the first game of the Magners League season against reigning champions Munster (on Friday 4 September, kick-off 8pm) continued tonight as Glasgow Warriors defeated English Division One side Doncaster by six tries to nil.

The hosts opened the scoring with an early penalty from Scot Ally Warnock, but it was all Glasgow from then on.

The countdown to the first game of the Magners League season against reigning champions Munster (on Friday 4 September, kick-off 8pm) continued tonight as Glasgow Warriors defeated English Division One side Doncaster by six tries to nil.

The hosts opened the scoring with an early penalty from Scot Ally Warnock, but it was all Glasgow from then on.

Centre Peter Horne and scrum-half Mark McMillan touched down for the Warriors in the first half with Dan Park converting both scores.

In the second half, a Dave McCall double was interspersed by tries from Thom Evans and Richie Vernon leaving a significant gap between the two sides on the scoreboard. Ruaridh Jackson converted the final three scores to give Warriors head coach Sean Lineen much to smile about ahead of the final pre-season outing next Friday night.

The Warriors will face London Wasps at Firhill on Friday 28 August (kick-off 7:30pm) in the only home pre-season friendly of the year before the start of the 2009/10 Magners League campaign. Season ticket holders can attend this game, and bring along a friend, for free.
