The Biggest Team in Glasgow, the Glasgow Warriors, has teamed up with the biggest local commercial radio station in Scotland, 102.5 Clyde 1. The arrangement between the two organisations is designed to create increased awareness of the Warriors amongst the public in the West of Scotland and is another key development in the Warriors" communications strategy ahead of their first game on Friday 5 October against Connacht (kick-off 7:30pm).

The campaign includes on-air live reads in key daytime shows, weekly web activity on www.clyde1.com and introduces Clyde 1 presenter, Gavin Pearson, as the official match-day announcer at the Warriors" new home at Firhill Arena.

Clyde 1 is the number one local commercial radio station in Scotland reaching 586,000 listeners every week.

Speaking on his new role with the Warriors, Gavin Pearson added: "I"m thrilled to be a part of what is happening at The Arena.

"I"ve always been a huge rugby fan so for Clyde 1 to be involved with the city's only professional rugby club is really exciting for me and our listeners."

Glasgow return to Firhill Arena on 5 October for their first home game of the Magners League when they face an Irish Invasion.

Connacht (5 October), Leinster (12 October), Munster (26 October) and Ulster (2 November) all visit The Arena as the Warriors seek to turn their new home at Firhill into their new fortress.

Season tickets for the Warriors' 2007/08 campaign are priced at _150 for adults and only _50 for concessions (under 18s, students & OAPs).
