Stortoni Adds Experience To Warriors" Backline

Glasgow Warriors have signed Argentinean international fullback Bernardo Stortoni.

Stortoni joins the Warriors on a one-year-deal with an option for a second from English Premiership side Bristol.

On his latest recruit, Warriors head coach Sean Lineen, said: "I was looking to add some experience to the backline and losing Rory Lamont and Francisco Leonelli also left us short.

"Having looked at some footage and spoken to Richard Hill at Bristol and Argentina's director of rugby, Les Cusworth, I know Bernie will bring a lot of energy and experience to the Warriors" backline."

Stortoni added: "I am looking forward to playing here. Glasgow Warriors have a good team and for me it is very good to play with such a fantastic group of players.

"I know I now need to demonstrate to the rest of the players that I will do everything I can to play well.

'the boys are all very friendly and they know my English isn't very good, so I must say thank you to them for taking the time to teach me all the different moves."

Whilst at Bristol, Stortoni was known as 'the Peoples Player" as in 2004/05, a large portion of his wages were paid by the supporters.

Following previous spells with Narbonne and Rotherham, his three years in the Premiership with Bristol saw Bernardo score 18 tries in 42 appearances.
