Glasgow Warriors are pleased to confirm that former All Black centre Daryl Gibson has signed on a two-year deal.On Gibsona?'s arrival in Scotland, Warriors head coach Sean Lineen said: a??I am very excited about what Daryl will bring to the Warriors both on and off the field. He will bring a level of experience and professionalism which can only move us forward in what will be a challenging season. He is also not a bad rugby player!a??Gibson added: a??Ia?"m looking forward to helping the team develop further after last seasona?'s encouraging performances. "Ia?"m determined to make Glasgow more successful and help the Warriors to perform well in the Magners League and Heineken Cup. The move to Firhill is exciting and with improved team performances and excellent facilities for the supporters, wea?"ll hopefully get more people supporting the professional game in Glasgow."Gibson has joined from Guinness Premiership club Leicester Tigers where he was vice-captain. He gained 19 New Zealand caps following his debut against Samoa in Albany in June 1999, the same year he made his only appearance against Scotland for the All Blacks._He did however also appear in all five games for the New Zealand Maori on their 1998 tour of Scotland.He made a team record 78 appearances for the Crusaders in Super 12 rugby from 1996-2002, scoring 14 tries and gaining four winners medals in 1998, 1999, 2002 and 2002. He also played 80 matches for Canterbury following his debut in June 1993, claiming 35 tries and winning the New Zealand Provincial Championship with them in 1997 and 2001. Educated at Christchurch Boys High School and Canterbury University, Gibson played for New Zealand U19 in 1993 and 1994, and New Zealand U21 in 1994, 1995 and 1996.He moved to England, joining Bristol Shoguns in September 2002, making his home debut against Leicester Tigers.
