James Malcolm

James Malcom signed his first professional contract in 2016, after joining the Scottish Rugby Elite Development Programme in the summer of 2014.

He played for Glasgow at under-17 and under-18, Scotland at under-17, under-18 and under-20 (2013 and 2014) and plays for both Ayr and GHA first XV.

Malcolm made his first start for the club in a European Rugby Champions Cup pool match against the Scarlets, scoring a try in a 43-6 victory.

The former pupil of Hutchesons' GS - where he was head boy - is currently studying mechanical engineering at Strathclyde University and is a member of Scottish Rugby's regional academy, supported by sportscotland Institute of Sport.

His dad is a former captain of Glasgow, brother Donald represented Scotland under-19, sister Rachel plays hockey for Scotland at under-21 level and sister Clare represents Glasgow district in hockey.
