Moray Low is a powerful tight-head prop who has been part of the Glasgow Warriors set-up since summer 2006, making great strides in the intervening years to establish himself as a front-rower of international quality. He was selected as part of the Scotland squad for the 2011 Rugby World Cup.

He made his Warriors debut in the Magners League match against Leinster at Donnybrook in November that year. His European bow followed in Glasgow’s next match, when the Warriors beat Narbonne 51-7 at Hughenden. Awarded a full contract in summer 2007, he immediately went on to establish himself as first-choice tight head for Warriors, filling the vacancy left by Euan Murray’s departure to Northampton Saints.

His performances for Glasgow earned him selection for Scotland’s December 2007 training squad and subsequently for preparation for the 2008 RBS 6 Nations. After playing in all of Glasgow’s Heineken Cup and Magners League matches in 2007-2008 he earned selection in Scotland’s squad for the June visit to Argentina, but injury in his club’s final league match, Warriors beating Munster at Cork, forced him to miss that South American tour

Low played for Scotland under-21 in 2005 and was a member of the Scotland squad for the club international match against the Irish at Donnybrook in March 2006.

His Scotland A debut followed in February 2007 in victory against the Italians at McDiarmid Park, Perth. He also made a replacement appearance for Scotland A in the Churchill Cup match against Ireland A at Twickenham in June 2007, and he was again in the starting XV in February 2008 in the wins against Italy A (37-15 at Mogliano) and Ireland A (67-7 at McDiarmid Park).

Moray made his Scotland under-21 debut in the world championship match against Wales in Mendoza, Argentina, in June 2005 and went on to play in Scotland’s three other matches in that tournament, scoring a try in the 43-25 victory in the second game against Wales and another against Argentina.  The Lossiemouth High School former pupil has played club rugby for Moray, Aboyne, Highland, Aberdeen Grammar, and Wellington Redbacks in Australia as well as representative rugby for Caledonia at under-18 and under-21 levels. Moray is a Scottish Rugby Academy and West of Scotland Institute of Sport member.

Honours: Scotland, Scotland A, Scotland U21
