Troy Nathan has been named November 2011 McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month in association with Hotel du Vin.

The Kiwi centre came out on top in the supporters’ poll run on www.glasgowwarriors.org.

The former Connacht man, who has built up a cult following among the Warriors Twitter community, edged out October winner Duncan Weir by a mere 12 votes (359 to 347).

Nathan’s most memorable moment in November was the dramatic late try that secured RaboDirect PRO12 victory over Ulster.

He told www.glasgowwarriors.org: “I’m delighted to have been given the nod by the Warriors supporters. To a man and woman, they’ve been fantastic with me since I arrived in the summer, and I’m loving life at the club.

“I’d like to thank everyone who voted for me, and also the sponsors of the award, McCrea Financial Services and Hotel du Vin.

“The team have been getting some good results of late, and we’re all massively looking forward to the challenge of the upcoming 1872 Cup derbies against Edinburgh Rugby. As always, the great Warriors fans will play a huge part in our efforts to defend the silverware.”
