Glasgow Warriors will play their opening pre-season friendly against Premier Division 1 Dundee HSFP, it was confirmed today. The training match will take place on Saturday 7 August at Mayfield with a 3pm kick-off.
 
Warriors’ medical team is currently dealing with a number of injuries sustained at the end of last season and over the course of the summer within the playing squad, the casualty count necessitating that Glasgow had to withdraw from the Challenge Vacquerin competition in France next month. 
 

Scotland’s cup holders, Ayr, had offered to assist Warriors’ pre-season preparations with a match at Millbrae, however, that now cannot take place next Saturday.

Sean Lineen, Glasgow Warriors’ head coach, said: “We are grateful to Ayr who were very keen  to help us but who also have their own commitments which we understand.

“We also have good relations with Dundee and are delighted that we can begin our preparations for the forthcoming campaign against them.”
