Prop Ryan Grant, who was this week named in the Scotland 'A' squad for the IRB Nations Cup in Romania, will move along the M8 this summer to join Magners League semi-finalists Glasgow Warriors following three years in Edinburgh.

Joining Grant at Firhill next season will be lock Robert Harley and scrum-half Henry Pyrgos, both of whom have Scotland U20 caps against their name. All have signed two-year-deals.

Speaking about Grant, who arrives at the Warriors having gained experience at Border Reivers prior to joining Edinburgh, Lineen said: "The way Ryan plays really suits Glasgow and he'll certainly get game-time here.

"He'll add quality to the front-row which is a crucial area for us because he's a big lad but he's also very mobile."

The departure of second-row stalwarts Dan Turner and Tim Barker has opened up vacancies at lock, and Lineen is excited by National Academy prospect Harley.

"Rob has been outstanding for the U20s," he continued. "He's really driven, you can see the hunger in his eyes, and he will push the locks that are already there now.

"He's not coming in to develop, he's ready to play now and will give us the competition we need at lock."

Scrum-half is another position which has been bolstered today by the signing of Loughborough University's Pyrgos.

Of the 20-year-old, Lineen added: "He's a clever nine and has a good break on him.

"Gary Mercer (Glasgow's defence coach) worked with him with the U20s and was really impressed.

"We had him up here a few months ago and we liked how he interacted with the squad. He fits the criteria for what we look for in a Warrior."

Glasgow chief executive, Kenny Baillie, echoed Lineen's upbeat anticipation of the trio's arrival in the west: "I'm delighted that three young, ambitious Scottish players have committed their future to Glasgow Warriors. They are joining the club at a time when it is growing both on and off the pitch.

"The excitement of the Magners League play-offs gave everyone a real lift and with the move to our new training and medical centre at Scotstoun Stadium just a few days away, all three lads will benefit enormously training alongside some world class players in first class facilities."
