Glasgow Warriors have finished the 2009/10 Magners League regular season in third position - the highest ever achieved by the club.

The Warriors will now travel to the Liberty Stadium in Swansea to play the champions of 2005 and 2007, Ospreys, in the inaugural Magners League Play-Offs on Friday 14 May (kick-off 7.05pm) - the biggest game in the history of the Warriors to date.

Following Friday’s bonus point win over the Scarlets, Lineen said: “It’s a huge achievement to make the semi-finals. We now need to show that we deserve to be there and put in a performance next week.

“It’s been a challenging season but I’ve been really impressed with how the players have come together led by Al kellock.”

Now with the prospect of travelling to Ospreylia, where the Warriors face a potent Ospreys team, Lineen is looking forward to being a part of a special occasion.

“The Liberty Stadium has a great pitch and a fantastic atmosphere,” he continued, “playing against the Ospreys is like playing against a world XV, they are a real offloading team.

“The play-offs are fantastic. They really do focus the mind at this stage of the season.

“However, we don’t want the season to end after the play-offs. We want to be in the Grand Final on 29 May. The Magners League is such a great competition and it’s a privilege to be involved in.”
