Glasgow Warriors stand-off Dan Parks today reaffirmed the importance of this coming Friday night’s clash with European champions and Magners League leaders Leinster at Firhill (23 April, kick-off 8pm).

The Warriors’ highest ever finish in the Magners League was fifth back in 2007/08, and with just two games of the regular season to go (one at home), they are hoping to achieve their best finish in the club’s history.

Parks said: “Friday night’s game against Ulster was a bit of a scrap and there wasn’t much in it at half-time.

“But it was a real grinding result because Ulster are a tricky team to play against.

“We’re obviously pleased with the win but we’ve got the leaders in Leinster on Friday night so it’s a huge game for the club.

“It’s a really exciting time right now with the play-offs. There are just two games of the regular season left to go and we’ll hopefully stay up there inside the top four and ensure a place in the semi-final.

“Friday night could be my last game at Firhill, should we not get a home semi-final, so I want to do everything I can to ensure we win and to thank the fans for seven years of their fantastic support.”

This year’s play-off structure sees the teams who finish in the top-four of the Magners League at the end of the regular season enter a one-off semi-final battle for a place in the Grand Final on 29 May.

The first and second placed teams will be handed a home semi-final tie.

The semi-finals are as follows:

1st place v 4th place
2nd place v 3rd place
