Glasgow Warriors captain, Alastair Kellock, has called on the Glasgow public to get behind the city’s only professional rugby team when they open their Heineken Cup campaign at home to Biarritz next Saturday (5 October) at the earlier kick-off of 3:45pm. Kellock, who recently attended the Heineken Cup launch in London, recalls Glasgow beating the French giants in December 2007 before overturning Toulouse away last year. Therefore, the belief is strong within the squad that, despite such opposition posing a significant threat, it is a game Glasgow can win, especially with the noise and atmosphere generated by the loyal Glasgow fans at Firhill.
