We’re now a month into the season, and with all the league programmes up and running it is good to see so many ‘Glasgow’ teams doing well in the Scottish Hydro Premier and National Leagues. Ayr currently top Premier 1, Dalziel top National 1 and Greenock Wanderers are leading the way in National 2. Here at the Warriors, after a positive start to the season, the squad has had a difficult couple of weeks with recent defeats at the hands of the Dragons and the Ospreys. Off the field of play, the players have been very busy out and about visiting various clubs and schools, and on game-days at Firhill, it has been good to see an increase in the numbers coming to cheers on the Warriors. As mentioned in my last correspondence sent directly to clubs, we are looking to work with them to further develop rugby in Glasgow and to this end I am delighted to announce details of a ticket initiative that can help clubs generate some much needed income. This season we are to offer 25% commission on tickets for the Warriors’ home games sold through clubs. The process is easy, clubs can sell the tickets, collect the money, keep 25% of the income and return the ticket application form and balance of the monies collected. Our next home game is the Heineken Cup game against Biarritz on Saturday 10 of October (kick-off 3.45pm). We would appreciate your support and if this helps raise funds for your club that would be great. Once again, I would like to thank all Glasgow Warriors supporters and the clubs from the Glasgow region for their contribution to rugby in Glasgow and I look forward to working to support your club and seeing new and existing club members get behind The Biggest Team in Glasgow.
