Glasgow Warriors put in a vigorous performance in their second and final game of the Challenge Auvergne tonight against host side Clermont Auvergne.

Jason White’s Clermont just edged the encounter, leading 5-0 at half-time, before sealing the win in the second period with a converted try to win 12-0.

The Warriors have conceded just three tries in two games against stern French opposition and will return to the UK on Saturday before a week’s break ahead of two UK dates.

The Warriors will continue their pre-season preparations against Doncaster at Castle Park on Friday 21 August (kick-off 7:30pm) before their final outing against London Wasps at Firhill on Friday 28 August (kick-off 7:30pm).

Glasgow open their Magners League campaign at home to Munster on Friday 4 September (kick-off 8pm).
