Youngsters in Glasgow and the west of Scotland are being encouraged to keep active this summer by the city’s only professional rugby team, Glasgow Warriors. From Monday 27 to Wednesday 29 July, the Warriors will take over Pollok Country Park on the city’s South Side, the home of Strathclyde Police RFC, where they will host a summer camp for both boys and girls – an ideal opportunity for those looking to keep fit and improve their rugby, or even give rugby a go for the first time. The three-day camp focuses on improving skills such as passing, tackling, support play and decision making with support and advice from qualified coaches. Those attending will also get to meet members of the Glasgow Warriors squad on at least one of the three days! Each child will also be given a follow-up action plan to take away with them aimed at continuing the improvement of their game. The three-day camp costs just £49 per child which includes drinks and fresh fruit each day and a souvenir item of Glasgow Warriors kit.
