Hefin O’Hare recently qualified to play for Scotland and wasted no time in being selected to play for the Scotland 7s team on the IRB Sevens World Series.

He scored two tries in the Hong Kong tournament and will be in action at the Adelaide event this weekend.

This week he answers glasgowwarriors.org’s STARRING XV questions.

First club you ever played for…
Hoylake.

First position you ever played in…
Hooker when I was under 10.

The moment you thought you might become a professional rugby player…
When I was being paid to play first team rugby for Newbrighton at 16 years old. I was then signed for Leeds when I was 18 for £5,000.

Most memorable try…
I scored for Wales RL against New Zealand at the Millennium Stadium. More recently, my try for Scotland 7s against USA in Hong Kong last weekend was definitely up there.

I broke out of our 22 and ran the length of the field in front of 40,000 people.

Most formidable opponent…
In rugby league, it’s Darren Lockyer. In union, it has to be Scott Gibbs.

Best stadium you have ever played in…
The Millennium Stadium.

Greatest ever achievement…
Haven’t yet achieved it. Still ongoing!

Biggest influence on your career so far…
My grandfather and my mother.

Greatest ever holiday…
Surfing in Indonesia in 2007 with Spencer Davey and Rob Hawkins from Bath.

Greatest ever film seen…
Last of the Mohicans.

Last CD you bought…
The Juno Soundtrack.

Favourite ever CD…
Jack Johnson: In Between Dreams.

Best thing about living in Glasgow…
Close to the great outdoors.

Main hobby away from rugby…
Travelling and reading.

The player(s) with the worst dress sense in the Warriors changing room…
Dan Parks.
