It’s been a big year for Glasgow’s young stand-off Ruaridh Jackson. He’s made two fine starts in the Warriors’ no.10 jersey, earning himself a call-up to the Scotland training squad for the RBS 6 Nations. As he turns 21 next week, glasgowwarriors.org thought he should be first to answer their STARRING XV questions. First club you ever played for… Aberdeen GSFP. First position you ever played in… Hooker! The moment you thought you might become a professional rugby player… When I got a phonecall from Sean Lineen after playing in the Royal Navy Schools’ Sevens at Murrayfield. | Butch James | | Most memorable try… When I ran the length of the pitch and scored against South Africa, in South Africa, during the IRB Sevens. Most formidable opponent... Butch James. Best stadium you have ever played in… The Rec was pretty special. | The Rec, Bath | Greatest ever achievement… Getting a call-up to the Scotland squad. Biggest influence on your career so far… My parents. Greatest ever holiday… Bulgaria with James Eddie, Moray Low and some school friends last year. | Ice Age | Greatest film ever seen… Ice Age. Last CD you bought… I haven’t bought a CD in ages, I just download everything. Probably Kings of Leon. Favourite ever CD… Damien Rice. ‘O’. | Kings of Leon | Best thing about living in Glasgow… The weather! Main hobby away from rugby… I’d love to say something constructive but it's either the XBOX or the Wii. The player(s) with the worst dress sense in the Warriors changing room… It’s got to be the Argentine’s (Bernardo Stortoni and Jose Maria Nunez Piossek) as well as Max Evans. They’re all pretty terrible! | Max Evans | |
