Glasgow Warriors head coach, Sean Lineen, has been forced to name a 24-man squad ahead of Sunday afternoon’s Heineken Cup visit of Newport Gwent Dragons (kick-off 3pm) as his side continue to recover from a bruising 33-26 victory over Toulouse in France at the weekend.

Reflecting on the landmark win, Lineen said: “Last weekend’s game was a fantastic result for the club and I’m proud of the way the players responded to the call for a big performance, both from themselves and the fans.

“It was a very physical game which saw us lose another few guys through injury so that’s been a challenge this week as we look ahead to the visit of The Dragons.”

The Dragons return to Glasgow following their Magners League win over the Warriors just two weeks ago and Lineen is adamant his charges must rid themselves of their bogey side in European competition if they are to mount a serious challenge for domestic honours.

“Our record against The Dragons is frustrating and something we really need to put right. The passion and aggression of the players was evident last week and we must carry that into this Sunday’s game if we’re to get the result we are all looking for.”

The final 22 will be confirmed via email before 12noon on Friday 23 January.
