Glasgow Warriors stand-off Ruaridh Jackson has this morning failed to recover sufficiently from a thigh injury prior to the squad’s departure for Toulouse.

Jackson’s starting berth will now be occupied by Dan Parks whilst Colin Shaw is promoted to the bench from where he could make his first competitive appearance since January last year.

Warriors head coach Sean Lineen said: “Ruaridh underwent a consultation with the medical staff this morning and it’s unfortunate that he is unable to take the field against Toulouse tomorrow.

“We said during Thursday’s media conference that there was a doubt over his fitness, so it was a shame to have to leave him back in Glasgow this morning but we don’t want him taking part in such a big game unless he is 100% fit.”
