Glasgow Warriors hooker Dougie Hall is thrilled to have been passed fit for the David Lloyd 1872 Cup clash against his former club, Edinburgh, at Murrayfield on Boxing Day (kick-off 7:30pm).

Hall has recovered from a concussion sustained during the Warriors away Heineken Cup clash against Bath and can’t wait to return to Murrayfield for a contest that looks likely to attract a record attendance for a Magners League game in Scotland.

Tickets are still available for the Boxing Day derby – priced at £15 for adults, £10 for concessions and £5 for under 18s – and can be purchased by calling the ticket hotline on 0131 346 5180 or by logging onto www.edinburghrugby.org

He said: “I’m glad to be available for selection for the Boxing Day game. The derby looks set to go to a whole new level and I want to be part of it.

“These games are always special and it’s great that we could start to get the crowds that I feel the derby deserves.

“The motivation for the players on the field comes from representing their city, and the fact that you’re up against your opposite man in terms of Scotland selection, but with a record crowd in the stands it makes it all that much better.”

Hall is now available for selection alongside Fergus Thomson who made his return from shoulder surgery in Glasgow’s clash against Bath at Firhill on Sunday 14 December.

In the back division, winger Lome Fa’atau has been ruled out of the Biggest Game in Scotland with a fractured shinbone which will sideline him for around four to six weeks.

The only other first-team casualty is scrum-half Mark McMillan who continues his rehabilitation from a knee injury.

Glasgow Warriors head coach, Sean Lineen, will name his side for the Boxing Day derby tomorrow afternoon.

The deciding leg of the David Lloyd 1872 Cup is at Firhill on Friday 2 January (kick-off 3pm). Tickets are still available – priced at £20 for adults, £10 for concessions and £5 for under 18s - by calling the ticket hotline on 0844 800 3490 or by clicking here.

Supporters are encouraged to arrive early for the Boxing Day derby clash to take advantage of the pre-match festivities around Murrayfield Stadium – featuring Murrayfield’s new big screens.

Food and drink will be available throughout the stadium and Murrayfield’s President’s Suite in the west stand is open to everyone (capacity restrictions apply).

Also, the first 300 adult fans in the President’s Suite will be entitled to free mince pies and mulled wine.

Traffic Police have also issued some important information regarding car parking around the stadium – click here for more game and travel information.

Those attending the match on Boxing Day are reminded that public transport in Edinburgh will be limited (further details are available at www.edinburgh.gov.uk/transportedinburgh/Buses and www.lothianbuses.com)
