Man of the match, Max Evans, scored two of the Warriors’ four tries which earned the home side a vital win going into the business end of the season. After the game, Warriors head coach Sean Lineen said: “It was a real team effort and, as I’ve said before, it all starts with the front five. A guy I’d like to single out is Tim Barker. He’s worked very hard during the Autumn international period and got over the gain line every time tonight. “Second in the league might be a little foreign to us, but Glasgow is an exciting place to be right now. The guys could now either get a bit dizzy or just say ‘right, we’re on to something special here’.” Dan Parks opened the scoring, after a slow start, with a Penalty in the 24th minute. This was quickly followed by a try from scrum-half, Mark McMillan, which came from a dropped ball from a Cardiff line-out near their own try line. Unfortunately Dan Parks missed the difficult conversion. Max Evans then stretched the lead with his first try of the evening, creating some space for himself after a long battle between the forwards. The score at half time was 13-0 as Parks again missed the conversion in bitterly cold conditions.
Right at the death, Max Evans capitalised on a neat chip forward by Dan Parks and together picked up the final points of the match, with Parks scoring the conversion, leaving the Warriors soaring 28 points up with no reply. The Warriors cemented their place at the top end of the Magners League tonight as they stormed to a bonus point win over Cardiff Blues at Firhill tonight - lifting them into second place.
The second half saw Dan Parks score his second penalty of the night, which was quickly followed-up by a try from Lome Fa’atau. The chance was created when Kelly Brown grasped a loose ball, which was then chipped through by Andy Henderson, to the scorer.
