Glasgow Warriors are lending their support to two great causes this weekend.

Today, the Warriors players and staff pledged £500 to the BBC Children in Need appeal, whilst tomorrow night the Warriors will host the inaugural ‘Movember Ball’ in aid of the Craig Hodgkinson Memorial Trust.

Co-organiser of the Movember Ball, Glasgow Warriors back and Scotland 7s international Mike Adamson, said: “The Trust has been up and running for a year or two now and Colin and I decided it was about time that we did something to help raise the profile of such a worthwhile cause.

“The Movember concept is used to raise money for various good causes around the world and we felt it was appropriate for this event so we can raise money for Craig’s Trust in the same good spirit and sense of humour that Hodgy had.”

The Craig Hodgkinson Memorial Trust was established by John and Diane Hodgkinson in memory of their son Craig, who played for local side Glasgow Hawks. Craig passed away at the age of 27 from cardiomyopthia while playing rugby for the Royal Navy.

The Ball, organised by Adamson and his fellow Warriors team-mate Colin Gregor, will take place at the Crowne Plaza in Glasgow and aims to raise funds for the Trust which provides debfibrilator kits to sports clubs across the country.

Those attending the event are simply asked to sport a traditional mo’ (moustache) in the spirit of Movember.

The evening will comprise of a champagne reception, four course meal, a raffle, auction and a ceilidh.
