WARRIORS FEEL THE HEAT IN LA MANGA PDF Print
Tuesday, 28 October 2008

ImageThe increasing number of Glasgow players in the Scotland squad have been put through their paces in La Manga by Frank Hadden and his coaching team ahead of the Bank of Scotland Corporate Autumn Tests which start next week.

On Tuesday, the squad went through a double training session in windy, but dry, conditions with a temperature of 20°C.

Speaking from Spain, Warriors head coach and specialist coach with the national team, Sean Lineen said: “Thom and Max have been working very hard, they haven’t quite got the tans they wanted but they probably had tans before they even got here. Colin Gregor is also here now and has slotted in with no problems at all.

“It’s been a really good couple of days and the players are adapting quickly as to how Frank [Hadden], Mike [Brewer] and Graham [Steadman] want them to play.”

Image“The quality of the backs is outstanding with the two Lamont’s in there with the Evans brothers. Simon Webster and Phil Godman from Edinburgh have also impressed me in training.

“The food has been outstanding, it’s all controlled with a new fulltime nutritionist, but I’m missing the Revels that the management usually get when I’m with Glasgow!”

Meanwhile, Warriors scrum-half Mark McMillan, who suffered shoulder and hip knocks yesterday, watched training after having undergone some rehab exercises in a swimming pool.

Scotland team doctor James Robson said: “We hope Mark will be able to progress to the extent he may be able to resume training before the end of the week.”
