John Barclay touches down for the Warriors' second try
Glasgow Warriors bounced back from last week’s defeat at the hands of Connacht in spectacular fashion tonight as they triumphed over Llanelli Scarlets at Firhill by five tries to three.

After the game, Warriors head coach Sean Lineen said: "I'm so pleased for the guys. We had a good sit down after the Connacht game and they've put in a lot of hard work this week.

"Even when Llanelli came back into the game, I knew we had it in us to win the game. The feeling in the dressing room before the game was electric, I could just feel it."

The visitors made the more promising start as they pinned Glasgow inside their own 22 throughout the opening stages. Stand-off Stephen Jones crossed the line for the opening try shortly before winger Mark Jones followed suit. Jones converted the second score.

Despite being twelve points down, the Warriors rallied and countered through the boot of Dan Parks, with a penalty after 22 minutes, and tries from Thom Evans and John Barclay to go in one points ahead at the break.

The Warriors came out of the dressing room firing on all cylinders, with Dougie Hall finishing off an exciting move sparked by both wingers – Thom Evans and Lome Fa’atau.

Evans received the ball inside his own 22 and kicked up-field. His follow-up chase ended as he crashed into his opposite man, setting up the platform for an attack inside the Scarlets’ half.

Fa’atau then received the ball and kicked over the top of the Llanelli defence before collecting the ball himself. Showing real strength to hold off three defenders, Fa’atau then offloaded to Hall who still had plenty work to do before crossing the line. Parks converted.

Thom Evans then linked with his older brother to score another scintillating try. Max ignited the move on his own line and stepped the defender to break through the line. Approaching the half-way line, he passed to his brother, who piled over the line despite the best efforts of the Scarlets’ defence.

Llanelli tried to respond through a Mark Jones try in the 72nd minute, and although Stephen Jones added a further penalty to close the gap to seven points, replacement scrum-half Colin Gregor sealed the victory for Glasgow.

Bernardo Stortoni sent a trademark up-and-under in the air and although he failed to collect up-field, the ball made its way to prop Kevin Tkachuk who passed round the back of the defender to Fa’atau. Fa’atau then released Colin Gregor who touched down at full stretch.
