Lome Fa'atau scored in the convincing victory
Glasgow Warriors capped off their pre-season tour of the south of France with a convincing 7-36 victory over Beziers in the final game of the XV Challenge Vaquerin tournament in France.

An impressive five tries for Glasgow was enough to put Sean Lineen's side clear ahead despite an early scare in the first half when Beziers took the initiative.

The second-half was a far more convincing display from the Warriors who ran in four tries through each of the Evans brothers, Lome Fa'atau, and summer signing - Scotland under-20 captain - Ruaridh Jackson.

Colin Gregor opened the scoring in the 25th minute with a well struck penalty, 0-3.

Celebrations were short lived as, despite being first to take the initiative, Glasgow conceded the first try of the afternoon which was converted, 7-3.

The evidence of Glasgow’s hard work during the course of the trip began to come to fruition as Chris Kinloch crossed the line moments before half-time to give the Warriors the psychological advantage at the whistle. Gregor added the extras.

Half time: 7-10

Soon after the second half had begun a buoyant Glasgow added another try to their tally. Thom Evans, back from Scotland duty, crossed the line while replacement Ruaridh Jackson put the Warriors clear ahead with a fine conversion, 7-17.

Glasgow Warriors added two further tries through Lome Fa’atau (unconverted) before Max Evans put the game out of Bezier’s reach, Gregor – back on as the subs continue to roll – slotted home the conversion with moments to go, 7-29.

Just as it seemed the rugby was over for the afternoon, Ruaridh Jackson added the final try of the afternoon, Colin Gregor converted to the sound of the final whistle.
