Lome Fa'atau scored his debut try tonight

The Glasgow Warriors continued their unbeaten run at Firhill Arena as they drew 11-11 with Munster.

A try from debutant winger Lome Fa’atau was countered by Lifeimi Mafi who crossed for the visitors.

After the game, Warriors head coach Sean Lineen said: “The ambition is a lot higher here now so I’m not happy with the draw.

“I thought we had the better of the first half and Munster had the better of the second.

“The level of skill and ability has to rise to our ambition.”

It only took the visitors five minutes to find the score-sheet through the boot of stand-off Paul Warwick before Dan Parks, who returned to the starting line-up alongside Andrew Henderson following Rugby World Cup duty with Scotland, levelled the score.

Parks then spotted an opening up-field and nudged the ball into space. Munster collected but the resulting tackle from Daryl Gibson knocked the ball free and Fa’atau scooped the ball up and crossed for his first try in a Glasgow shirt.

A good passage of possession soon followed with Moray Low, Johnnie Beattie and John Barclay all linking up to drive the Warriors forward.

A long pass wide from Parks to Gibson saw the former All Black throw an interception pass, but the ball was stolen back by Chris O’Young before he was bundled into touch.

Minutes later, the Firhill crowd were again vocal as Kelly Brown caught a Munster clearance kick with one outstretched hand in a moment that resembled a ‘Jedi mind trick’ from Star Wars.

Proceedings began to get more physical by the end of the first half as a member of the Munster front-row decided to attack Fergus Thomson with his fists, an act that resulted in Welsh referee James Jones having a word with the Warriors pack rather than the actual offender.

Warwick sent his 46th minute penalty between the posts to bring the score to 8-6 at the break.

The second half started with a Dan Parks penalty, but the visitors levelled the score with a well worked try from Mafi.

Four minutes later, Mafi found himself in the sin bin for a professional foul at a ruck, handing Parks the chance to reclaim the lead for the Warriors. However, he pushed it wide of the post.

Substitute Jeremy Manning tried to seal the victory with two late drop goals, but both were wide of the mark.
