The Glasgow Warriors waited until the very last minute of the game to secure a win against Leinster this evening.

The Warriors’ second win from two games at their new home, Firhill Arena, means that they leap-frog city-rivals, Edinburgh, in the Magners League table to re-establish their status as Scotland’s top pro-team.

After the game, Warriors head coach Sean Lineen said: “I’ve got even more grey hair after that!

“The subs made a big difference, especially Scotty Barrow at 10.

“It was an outstanding team effort and just shows the tremendous spirit here. We just want to win every game here and make Firhill a real fortress.”

Warriors substitute, Hefin O’Hare who scored Glasgow’s second try of the night added: “Sean said before that it was going to be a 22 man game and the subs came on and certainly made an impact, that’s what they’re there to do.”

The opening 30 minutes saw both sides tussle in centre-field with the visitors slotting two penalties before Glasgow’s Colin Gregor put his first penalty on the board.

Glasgow then threatened to cross the try-line as Bernardo Stortoni, Daryl Gibson and Johnnie Beattie linked up to put Moray Low within a hairs-breadth of the line, but the impact knocked the ball from his grasp.

Gregor’s opportunity to level the scores before the break was sliced wide.

Seven minutes into the second half, Low again pounced towards the line, this time successfully to put the Warriors in front for the first time in the game. Gregor missed the conversion.

Six minutes later, Sexton slotted another penalty to take the lead.

Just before the hour mark, another Sexton penalty and a further drop goal cost the Warriors the lead and Leinster worked-up a six point advantage with help from a Cian Healy try in the corner.

As the Warriors gradually brought on their entire list of substitutes, Glasgow took the game by the scruff of the neck.

Hefin O’Hare received a nicely-weighted pass from Stortoni to bring the deficit to a single point.

The final word went to Glasgow as Barrow and Stortoni linked up to clinch the victory.

A cross-field kick from Barrow bounced inside the try-area and Stortoni calmy collected and touched down for the win.
